Orchids names can be quite hard to remember but you should know at least one, which is Singapore National flower – Vanda Miss Joaquim.  Never heard, seen or smell national flower before? Fear not, you will be able to experience this subtle yet impactful floral scents in Jetaime Perfumery.

Continuing from the previous post, below are still the therapeutic orchids from Bulbophyllum genus:


Bulbophyllum levinei Schltr.
Chinese name: Chibanshidou Lan
Chinese medicinal name: Duyeyanzhu

Entire plant is used to treat swellings. It “benefits yin, reduces heat”, and is thus used to treat sore throat, tonsillitis, mouth ulcers, fever and thirst.
It can be either consume through decoction of the plant or apply externally by making it into paste.  
  

Bulbophyllum lobbii Lindl.
Thai name: lin fa in Ubon Rachthani

In Thailand, the leaves of this plant are used to treat external burns.


Bulbophyllum odoratissimum (Sm.) Lindl. ex Wall.
Chinese names: Mihuashidou Lan, Xiaohaoshi Ganlan, Shimi, Mitoushidou Lan
Medicinal name: Guoshangye; Xiaoguoshangye; Shicuanlian
Myanmar name: Thazin hmwe

This entire plant is used for therapeutic purposes. Chinese medical recorded that this plant benefits lungs, clears phlegm, stops the coughing of blood in tuberculosis, and relieves bronchitis, sore throat and joint pain. It also helps in the recovery of traumatic injuries, knife wound and fractures. 


Bulbophyllum pectenveneris (Gagnep) Seidenf.
Chinese name: Huanghuajuanban Lan, Huanghuashitou Lan

It has the ability to reduce stasis of blood, improve circulation and stop pain in the joints, muscles and bones.
